The Minnesota Vikings suffered a huge loss but Peterson would be reinstated for this Sunday’s upcoming game despite the arrest and child abuse chargers he incurred after brutally beating his 4-year-old son with a switch (tree branch).
Naturally, this had folks in an uproar, including Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton, who released the statement:
It is an awful situation. Yes, Mr. Peterson is entitled to due process and should be ‘innocent until proven guilty.’ However, he is a public figure, and his actions, as described, are a public embarrassment to the Vikings organization and the State of Minnesota.
Whipping a child to the extent of visible wounds, as has been alleged, should not be tolerated in our state. Therefore, I believe the team should suspend Mr. Peterson, until the accusations of child abuse have been resolved by the criminal justice system.
Money definitely talks. After Radisson hotel, one of the teams biggest sponsors, immediately pulled out, and Anheuser-Busch expressed their concerns, the NFL reversed their decision and Peterson was placed on the exempt/commissioner’s permission list — meaning he is suspended indefinitely from all team activities.
Please dont cry for him, he is on a paid leave until his legal situation is sorted out. That means he will still make almost $700,000 a week and get paid over $11 million this season.
So how about that, dam I need just half of what he makes a day.
Yes I know wishful thinking and dreaming.
