2014 marks 20 years since the release of Brandy’s debut single, “I Wanna Be Down.” BET Hiphop awards brought the ladies that appeared on the remix to the chart-topping hit song. Queen Latifah, Mc Lyte and YoYo joined Brandy on stage celebrating the song. 

The historic performance will air on premiere on BET, October 14, 2014.

MC Lyte Drops New Music & Will Reunite With Brandy, Yoyo & Queen Latifah on BET Hiphop Awards

MC Lyte steps back to the mic with her first album in 11 years, due later this year. The hip-hop trailblazer teams with Common and 10Beats on the Loudbox-produced first offering, “Dear John.”

The introspective song, which borrows lyrics from Puff Daddy’s “It’s All About the Benjamins,” is the anthem for #EducateOURMen, the scholarship initiative of MC Lyte’s Hip-Hop Sisters Foundation.

Lyte will join Brandy, Yo-Yo, and Queen Latifah to perform the remix to “I Wanna Be Down” at the BET Hip-Hop Awards later this month.

Is Rapper Nelly Going To BET With Reality Series?

The rapper-turned-actor’s talents on the BET comedy Real Husbands of Hollywood, Nelly’s new show (currently untitled) will consist of eight one-hour episodes following the hip hop icon as he juggles his business and personal lives. Expect to see how Nelly handles his Apple Bottom clothing line, co-ownership of the Charlotte Bobcats, and raising his children along with his deceased sister’s kiddos.

Is Keyshia Cole Returning to Reality TV?

Keyshia Cole is heading back to Reality TV with a untitled project for BET with six episodes, making it her third reality show on the network.

This show will follow Keyshia as she navigates single life and prepares to release new music. Based on some of her most recent Instagram posts, we may even get to see her mother and sister on the show.

 Very interesting, I guess she needs to sell this Album because the last one didn’t. Lol Can we talk people??

Shadyyyy: BET Gets Judge To Throw Out B.Scott Discrimination Lawsuit

BET can dress its hosts however the hell it wants even if that means forcing a transgender person to dress like a man and that's why the judge threw out B. Scott's discrimination lawsuit.

Scott sued the network, claiming it humiliated him during the BET Awards last year by forcing him to change from women's clothes into men's clothes ... and then yanking him off the show entirely.

But the judge in the case just ruled in the network's favor, dismissing the lawsuit.

The judge ruled BET has the 1st Amendment right to run its shows the way it wants ... and that includes ordering Scott to change from women's to men's clothes ... and that's that.

Scott says, "It disheartens me that the message sent today wasn't a message of acceptance, but rather it's acceptable to discriminate against transgender individuals on the basis of their gender identity and expression."

Scott's attorney has said he plans to appeal the decision.
