BET just announced it will be cancelling the comedy after nine seasons. The show was renewed for a eighth season earlier this year, and BET will add one more after that before it's donezo.
"Shows do end; that is a part the business,” creator Mara Brock Akil said. "I’m very happy BET gave The Game five additional seasons to explore these characters and this world. We made history when we got to the network and it’s nice to be able to celebrate the great achievements of the show."
Although this has to be a blow for fans, there's at least plenty of time to swallow the news and enjoy new episodes. Season eight won't even air until next year.
