Not only that, but it wound up being FOX’s biggest debut for a new show in three years. Considering a lot of the shows on that channel are here one day and then gone the next, that’s a pretty big deal…
According to The Hollywood Reporter, and Nielsen ratings, in the key 18-49 demographic, “Empire” pulled in a 3.8 rating, and overall, averaged 9.9 million viewers for the night. Next to ABC’s “How To Get Away With Murder,” “Empire” is reportedly the top launch of the 2014-2015 television season, and brought in numbers for the night that in the 18-49 category, beat out the likes of “Modern Family,” “Blackish” !
