Rapper Kendrick Lamar takes over the Winter 2014 issue of XXL.  "XXL" did something a little different with Kendrick, as opposed to their other artists. Kendrick crafted his own story for the issue, titled Writer At War.

XXL Magazine Releases 5 Iconic Covers for Their Last Issue of 2013

For their last issue of the year, XXL is paying homage to 5 iconic MCs that have reached milestones in hip-hop. Rappers Jay Z, Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, OutKast and LL Cool J. These artists have remained as relevant MCs in the game for over 2 decades. The issue hits stands nationally on Dec. 31, 2013 and will also features new stories on YG and DJ Mustard’s new movement, the success of Tech N9ne’s Strange Music in 2013, Karen Civil, Nipsey Hu$$le, Sage The Gemini, Isaiah Rashad, Young Scooter, Bun B and more.
